🔵 COMEY & BRENNAN PROBED

Good evening. It’s Tuesday, July 8.

Former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey are under criminal investigation for potential wrongdoing related to the Trump–Russia probe, including allegedly making false statements to Congress, Justice Department sources told Fox News Digital.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe referred evidence of wrongdoing by Brennan to FBI Director Kash Patel for potential prosecution, DOJ sources told Fox News Digital.

The sources said that the referral was received and told Fox News Digital that a criminal investigation into Brennan was opened and is underway. DOJ sources declined to provide further details. It is unclear, at this point, if the investigation spans beyond his alleged false statements to Congress.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday said it will allow the Trump administration to proceed with large-scale reductions in staff at many federal government agencies as opponents continue to seek to block those efforts in lower-court proceedings.

The Supreme Court’s decision is not the last word on the legality of the cutbacks at individual agencies themselves, which are being challenged in a lawsuit filed by a group of unions representing government workers, as well as by a handful of U.S. cities and counties.

The high court is likely to consider that issue at a later date.

President Donald Trump floated the idea of the federal government taking over Washington, D.C., saying that crime would go way down.

During a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Trump was asked how he wanted Republican voters to vote in the upcoming New York City mayoral election. Trump described Democrat socialist Zohran Mamdani, who is running for mayor of NYC, as a “communist” and stated that he “used to say” that the United States would “not ever be a socialist country.”

“I’ll say it again. We’re not going to have — if a communist gets elected to run New York, it can never be the same,” Trump said. “But we have tremendous power at the White House to run places when we have to. We could run D.C. We’re looking at D.C. We don’t want crime in D.C. We want the city to run well.”

Charlie Kirk says major people in the “ruling class” are pushing President Trump to give amnesty to illegal aliens working on farms, hospitality, and service industries.

“I can tell you that there are many different discussions that I’ve had with people, and they are pushing it hard—to create some kind of amnesty proposal aimed specifically at farm laborers in the United States.”

“If you want to break our coalition, go and push amnesty. That right there would be a complete collapse of everything that we have worked for — everything,” Kirk said. “The corporate class is deathly afraid that they might actually have to hire Americans and pay a higher wage.”

Tesla CEO Elon Musk, a former adviser to President Donald Trump who is now engaged in a feud with the White House, accused top MAGA ally Steve Bannon on Tuesday of being connected to the notorious convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Bannon, an ideological hard-liner on matters such as immigration, has for years attacked Musk, whose more pragmatic approach to various policies has outraged him. While Bannon, who served as a top aide to Trump during his first term, has conceded that Musk did a “brilliant” job leading the bureaucracy-slashing Department of Government Efficiency this year, he went for the jugular after the Tesla CEO had a public falling out with the White House over the president’s prized “big, beautiful,” tax cut bill.

This week, Musk responded to Bannon’s recent calls for him to be arrested and deported with a post that sparked instant controversy on social media.

At least 172 people are still missing days after catastrophic flash floods ripped through central Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott said Tuesday, revealing a dramatic increase from the official tally of 40 that officials had announced earlier.

Abbott updated the total of unaccounted for victims after taking a helicopter tour of the affected area, and noted the grim milestone that the death toll from the floods — which now stands at 111 — has surpassed the number of Texans killed in Hurricane Harvey in August 2017, in which 103 people from the Lone Star State lost their lives.

The latest death is located in Williamson County, according to the county spokesperson.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday he’s imposing a new 50% tariff on all copper imported into the US. However, it’s unclear when the new tariff would take effect.

“Today we’re doing copper,” he said at a Cabinet meeting, adding that he believed the rate will be 50%.

This would mark the fourth across-the-board tariff Trump has imposed during his second term. Currently, most imported cars and car parts face a 25% tariff, while imported steel and aluminum both face 50% tariffs.

Travelers racing to catch a flight at U.S. airports no longer are required to remove their shoes during security screenings, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Tuesday.

Noem said the end of the ritual put in place almost 20 years ago was immediately effective nationwide. She said a pilot program showed the Transportation Security Administration had the equipment needed to keep airports and aircraft safe while allowing people to keep their shoes on.

“I think most Americans will be very excited to see they will be able to keep their shoes on, and it will be a much more streamlined process,” Noem said.
