🔵 David Hogg OUT

David Hogg announced he will not seek reelection as one of three vice chairs of the Democratic National Committee after the full body voted Wednesday to hold new elections.
“Ultimately, I have decided to not run in this upcoming election so the party can focus on what really matters. I need to do this work with Leaders We Deserve, and it is going to remain my number one mission to build the strongest party possible,” Hogg said in a statement.
Earlier on Wednesday, the DNC voted to authorize new vice chair elections, setting the stage for Hogg to possibly be removed from his leadership position amid a dispute over his efforts to oust incumbent Democrats.

Regional tensions surged Wednesday amid signs that nuclear negotiations with Iran may be nearing their conclusion, raising fears of a potential military confrontation and prompting a wave of security alerts and diplomatic movements.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), a British maritime security agency, issued an unusual advisory Wednesday, warning commercial vessels in the Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz to exercise heightened caution due to what it called “increased tensions in the Middle East” that could escalate military activity and directly impact maritime security.
The UKMTO maritime advisory did not specify the immediate cause of its warning, but it comes against a backdrop of escalating threats from Israel and the U.S. about possible strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites.

Hamas terrorists attacked a group of humanitarian workers in Gaza Wednesday night, killing at least five and wounding several others.
The U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation shared an urgent update about the attack and said the incident took place after days of Hamas threats towards its employees. The foundation believes some of its employees might have been taken hostage by Hamas, potentially adding to the total of innocent people the terror group is holding in captivity.
“We are still gathering facts, but what we know is devastating: there are at least five fatalities, multiple injuries, and fear that some of our team members may have been taken hostage. We condemn this heinous and deliberate attack in the strongest possible terms,” the foundation said in a statement.

President Trump received a phone call from Elon Musk late on Monday night, which led to a public expression of regret from the billionaire early Wednesday for the attacks he had lodged against the president in their extraordinary public showdown last week, according to three people briefed on the call.
Musk’s outreach to Trump came after the tech entrepreneur spoke privately on Friday with Vice President JD Vance and the White House chief of staff, Susie Wiles, about a path to a truce between the two men, according to two of the people. The people spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe the private discussions.
The conversations paved the way for the strikingly chastened tone Musk struck in an X post early Wednesday, in which he wrote: “I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far.”

U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday said China will supply rare earths up front to the U.S. as part of a trade agreement.
The relationship between the world’s two largest economies is “done,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social, while adding, “WE ARE GETTING A TOTAL OF 55% TARIFFS, CHINA IS GETTING 10%.”
He added that magnets and “any necessary rare earths” will be supplied up front by China and that the U.S. will in turn make certain concessions such as allowing Chinese students to attend U.S. colleges and universities.

What started as a routine budget hearing in D.C. turned tense the moment Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth arrived. He had just authorized troop deployments to riot-hit Los Angeles, and Democrats were ready to pounce.
The hearing was billed as a routine discussion on defense appropriations.
But the moment Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth sat down, it became clear Democrats were preparing for an ambush.

The FBI is investigating what is fueling the riots against immigration enforcement in Los Angeles, the agency’s director, Kash Patel, said.
“The FBI is investigating any and all monetary connections responsible for these riots,” Patel told The Epoch Times in response to rising concerns about possible Chinese influence behind the chaos.
One group backing the unrest is the Party for Socialism and Liberation, a communist political party linked to networks funded by pro-Beijing tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham.

Harvey Weinstein has been found guilty of one charge of criminal sexual act and not guilty of a second charge.
Weinstein, 73, was convicted of forcing oral sex on former TV production assistant Miriam Haley, 48, at his New York City apartment in July 2006, but was acquitted of charges he forcibly performed oral sex on former model Kaja Sokola, 39, that same year, when she was just 19 years old.
The jury couldn’t reach a verdict and is still deliberating on the third-degree rape charge involving actress Jessica Mann, who said the former Miramax chief raped her in a New York hotel room in 2013.
