Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced security clearances had been pulled from 37 current and former officials who “abused public trust by politicizing and manipulating” information — including several who were involved in a controversial, Barack Obama-ordered assessment of Russian influence in the 2016 election.
An ODNI memo announced that the more than three dozen intel professionals — including a former top aide to Obama DNI James Clapper — had either politicized or weaponized intelligence, failed to safeguard classified info or not followed tradecraft standards.
“The President has directed that, effective immediately, the security clearances of the following 37 individuals are revoked,” the Aug. 18 memo stated, according to a copy obtained by The Post.

Republican lawmakers in California filed a lawsuit on Tuesday asking the state Supreme Court to step in and stop Democrats from moving forward with a plan to redraw congressional districts by delaying key votes at the state Capitol this week.
This marks the latest move in their full-court press to prevent the new map from passing. Republican lawmakers have taken their case to the media, pleaded with voters, and vowed to fight back with everything in their legal arsenal. They have also tried to stall votes in the state legislature, though Democrats hold the supermajority in both the state Senate and Assembly.
Tuesday’s emergency petition, filed by state Sens. Tony Strickland (R-CA) and Suzette Martinez Valladares (R-CA), as well as Assemblymen Tri Ta (R-CA) and Carl DeMaio (R-CA), argues that Democratic lawmakers violated 30-day disclosure rules in the state constitution and asks the court to block all attempts at getting new districts through by Friday’s deadline.

President Trump is floating providing U.S. pilots and warplanes as part of security guarantees for post-war Ukraine as he pushes for an end to Russia’s war against the country.
Trump has said the U.S. will help Europe craft security guarantees for Ukraine to backstop any peace deal reached with Russia, in lieu of Ukraine joining NATO, a red line for Russia.
“When it comes to security, they are willing to put people on the ground,” Trump said in an interview won “Fox & Friends” Tuesday morning, referring to Europe. “We’re willing to help them with things, especially, probably, if you talk about by air because nobody has stuff we have.”

Bodycam footage from the Newport Police Department in Newport, Rhode Island, shows Special Assistant Attorney General Devon Flanagan pleading with officers not to arrest her and appearing to try to use her job as a state prosecutor to get officers to let her go.
“I’m an AG! I’m an AG!” Flanagan can be heard saying to police as they tried to detain her for failing to comply with their demands. “You’re going to regret this. You’re going to regret it. I’m an A-” Flanagan said as she was escorted to the back of a police car and the door was shut.
“Good for you, I don’t give a sh–,” one of the arresting officers can be heard saying back at one point.

Two high school boys have been suspended in Virginia’s Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) after they questioned why a trans-identified female was in the male locker room at their school and expressed discomfort.
According to ABC 7, LCPS launched a Title IX investigation into the Stone Bridge High School students after the two boys were captured on camera questioning the trans-identified female student’s presence in the locker room. The trans-identified student was the one filming, which was a violation of district policy.
LCPS’s Title IX Office determined, after launching its investigation based on the video and the transgender student’s complaint, that the two boys were responsible for sexual harassment and sex-based discrimination, said attorney Josh Hetzler, who is representing the families.

The General Staff Department (GSD) of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) ordered the entire military early this month to make plans to build AI-based manned and unmanned combat systems.
According to a Daily NK source in the North Korean military recently, the Combat Training Bureau of the GSD on Aug. 2 issued an official order to the operational departments of services and arms across the KPA through encrypted wireless networks instructing them to “make plans to build AI-based manned and unmanned multipurpose combat systems ahead of the Ninth Party Congress.”
The order appears to be a move to prepare for building new combat systems that integrate AI technology as part of the next five-year strategy ahead of the Ninth Party Congress set for next year.
