3. WATCH: Heavily Armed US Marines Arrive at Southern Border... 1,500 Troops Including 500 Marines...

Earlier today, NBC News released a report claiming that Mexico is refusing to accept deportation flights from the United States.
According to the White House, Mexico actually just accepted four deportation flights yesterday, as well as thousands via other types of transportation.
State Dept spokeswoman posted:
The fake news is already lying about our successful partnership with Mexico helping to make our region safe again. The truth is, four ICE flights arrived in Mexico yesterday. Two military flights were sent to Guatemala because they were filled with Guatemalans. 2000 aliens were deported to Mexico yesterday alone by land and air, as Remain in Mexico was reimplemented. Promises made, promises kept.

President Trump on Friday ousted several inspectors general within government agencies overnight, shaking up federal oversight just days after returning to the White House, an administration official confirmed to NewsNation.
Trump fired around 17 watchdogs at various agencies within the Defense Department, State Department, Energy Department, Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and others. Those within the Pentagon, State Department and Transportation Department were notified of the termination over email, according to the Washington Post, which was the first to report on the firings.
A spokesperson from HUD confirmed to The Hill that Inspector General Rae Oliver Davis received notice Friday that her position was terminated.

The United States Marine Corps arrived at the U.S. southern border on Friday to secure the border and stop the flow of illegal aliens entering the country.
U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) said in a statement that the Trump administration deployed approximately 1,500 active-duty personnel from the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps to augment those who are already there assisting federal border officials.
“These military forces will support enhanced detection and monitoring efforts and repair and emplace physical barriers,” the statement said.

South Dakota governor Kristi Noem was confirmed as the United States’ new Secretary of Homeland Security Saturday by vote of 59 to 34 in the Senate.
The confirmation was considerably less dramatic than Friday’s 51-50 vote to confirm former Fox News host Pete Hegseth as defense secretary, with Vice President JD Vance casting the tie-breaking vote.
Seven Democrats also voted to confirm Noam: Sens. John Fetterman (D-PA), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), Tim Kaine (D-VA), Andy Kim (D-NJ), Gary Peters (D-MI), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Elissa Slotkin (D-MI).

Four Israeli women have returned home after 15 months in captivity as Israel and Hamas move forward with a fragile cease-fire deal.
Terrorist group Hamas released the four female soldiers on Jan. 25 in return for 200 Palestinian prisoners as part of the cease-fire arrangement.
Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, Naama Levy, and Liri Albag, all now aged between 19 and 20, were stationed at an observation post on the edge of Gaza when thousands of Palestinians led by Hamas fighters burst through the border and began a rampage that killed roughly 1,200 people.

A pair of former reporters at venerable DC-focused outlet Politico slammed “cowardly editors” at their ex-outlet for burying stories about Hunter Biden’s laptop — as well as other major stories — contributing to a false narrative that “misinformation” was being spread about Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden before the 2020 election.
Puck News scribe Tara Palmeri hosted Axios senior politics reporter Marc Caputo on her “Somebody’s Gotta Win” podcast for Inauguration Day to discuss their mutual frustration with what they saw as Politico’s mishandling of Biden family coverage.
“Politico did that terrible, ill-fated headline: 51 intelligence agents, or former intelligence agents, say that the Hunter Biden laptop was disinformation, or bore the hallmarks of disinformation,” Caputo carped. “Turns out that story was closer to disinformation because the Hunter Biden laptop appeared to be true.”

The suspect that was killed during a shootout that injured seven San Antonio Police officers late Wednesday night on Far North Side has been identified.
Law enforcement sources confirm that the suspect is 46-year-old Brandon Scott Poulos, who served 10 years in the Navy.
The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. at the Sonterra Heights apartment complex off Stone Oak Parkway near North Loop 1604 East.

Switzerland is excelling at removing immigrants slated for deportation, achieving the highest rate in Europe in 2024 with a 60 percent deportation rate and boosting its own progress by 18 percent over 2023.
In total, Switzerland was able to remove 7,000 asylum seekers in 2024, said Beat Jans, the federal councilor responsible for asylum, while speaking at the WEF.
When asked how Switzerland was so successful at returns, Jans said it was by working better with the cantons, which is the term for federal states of Switzerland, according to Swiss outlet RTS.
