Apparently, that guarantee was meaningless. Russia wants the Ukrainian oil & gas fields, rare earth minerals and very rich agricultural soil. Russia also needs Ukrainian Black Sea ports. Russia has a long history of genocide, ethnocide & linguicide against Ukraine & her people. Unlike Nazi Germany, Russia has never been punished for its crimes.”
