👍 Yes: “I agree those particular charges should be dropped, although the officers that weren’t truthful to get the warrant should be punished. Had the boyfriend not shot at police, Breonna Taylor would be alive. Garland overstepped with the original charges against the officers.”
👎 No: “They were responsible for the false warrant, which caused the the actions that led to her death. A false warrant causing a person's door to be broken down is a dangerous situation for all involved. Knowingly issuing such, which resulted in death should deserve an extremely harsh penalty. We cannot have false warrants in our country not punished to the highest degree. Also, the police officers serving legit warrants are doing an often dangerous job to begin with....why in the world endanger their lives,too, for no reason with a false warrant? ”
🤔 Unsure: “One cannot get past the fact that without the bad warrant, the police would not have burst down the door. So the bad warrant was a proximate cause. But shooting at police is still the direct cause of the actions leading to the death.”
