🔵 FULL LIST: Trump’s Tariffs
Good evening. It’s Wednesday, April 2.

President Trump declared a national emergency Wednesday to impose his sweeping “Liberation Day” tariffs on almost all imports — with a new 10% baseline rate and harsher “reciprocal” levies on dozens of countries including key allies such as European Union members, Japan and Israel.
Trump called the move a “Declaration of Economic Independence” and waited until stock trading ended for the day at 4 p.m. ET to announce the details.
“This is one of the most important days, in my opinion, in American history. It’s our Declaration of Economic Independence,” the president, 78, said in the Rose Garden.

Shares of Tesla rose on Wednesday following an anonymously sourced Politico report (keeping in mind Musk just yanked millions in government ‘subscriptions’ from them) that President Trump has told his inner circle that Musk would be stepping back from his advisory role in the coming weeks.
Musk, who Politico describes as “governing partner, ubiquitous cheerleader and Washington hatchet man” (totally not salty), claims that Trump “remains pleased with Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency initiative but both men have decided in recent days that it will soon be time for Musk to return to his businesses and take on a supporting role.”
Then Politico gets extra nasty – writing that “Musk’s looming retreat comes as some Trump administration insiders and many outside allies have become frustrated with his unpredictability and increasingly view the billionaire as a political liability, a dynamic that was thrown into stark relief Tuesday when a conservative judge Musk vocally supported lost his bid for a Wisconsin Supreme Court seat by 10 points.”

A judge on Wednesday dismissed the federal criminal case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams, nearly two months after the Trump administration controversially sought to drop corruption charges against the Democrat.
District Court Judge Dale Ho tossed out the case “with prejudice,” which permanently bars the Department of Justice from resurrecting the five-count indictment against Adams in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.
In his order, Ho rejected DOJ’s request to toss the case “without prejudice,” which would have allowed charges to be refiled against the mayor in the future.

Germany officially launched its first permanent foreign troop deployment since World War II on Tuesday — a 5,000-strong armored brigade in Lithuania — as Berlin moves to bolster NATO’s eastern flank in response to Russia’s war against Ukraine.
According to the German military’s lobbying group, the newly created 45th Armored Brigade was formally activated during a ceremony outside Vilnius.
A temporary headquarters was established, with the brigade’s crest unveiled and the unit now officially under the command of Brigadier General Christoph Huber.

A group of Republican senators voted along with Democrats on Wednesday for a resolution to undo President Trump’s 25 percent tariffs on Canadian imports, dealing an embarrassing blow to Trump.
The resolution expresses the sense of the Senate and doesn’t have the force of law, but its 51-48 passage is unwelcome news for the president on the very day he announced a host of new tariffs.
Four Republicans — Sens. Rand Paul (Ky.), Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Mitch McConnell (Ky.) — voted for the measure.

A California man has offered to plead guilty to plotting to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh over the Dobbs decision draft leak and the possible expansion of gun rights.
Nicholas John Roske is accused of flying across the country in June 2022 and taking a taxi to the Maryland home of the justice while armed with a handgun and a knife.
He was wearing all black and had zip ties with him but turned around after encountering Kavanaugh’s security detail.

Stephanie Turner, a member of the Fencing Academy Of Philadelphia, took a knee and forfeited a match to protest being forced to compete against a transgender (male) opponent.
On Sunday, Turned was matched against Redmond Sullivan – a “transgender woman” who is a biological male – during The Cherry Blossom – D1A/VET ROC event in Maryland, hosted by USA Fencing.
USA Fencing, a notoriously left-wing organization, has not been shy about its desire to allow males who “identify” as women to compete against actual women.

Amazon has reportedly made a last-minute play to buy all of TikTok, the wildly popular video app thats facing a US ban.
TikTok, which is bearing down on an April deadline to cut ties with its Chinese parent company or go dark in the US, is receiving multiple offers for sale, according to the New York Times.
Amazon’s bid came as a last-ditch effort.
