đŸ”” He is Risen!

Good evening. It’s Saturday, April 19.

Christians around the world celebrate Jesus of Nazareth’s resurrection on Easter Sunday, almost 2,000 years after he died and was raised form the dead just three days later.

The exclamation “He is risen” is thrown around so much during the Easter holiday. But what does it mean? Why is the grisly image of the cross of Calvary so revered by Christians?

Most are aware of the story of Jesus being crucified on Good Friday and emerging from his tomb after three days. But Christians believe the meaning of his resurrection is much more significant than merely showcasing divine power over death.

The Trump administration fired back at a Supreme Court decision barring it from deporting alleged Tren de Aragua (TdA) members by releasing the Venezuelan nationals’ rap sheets.

The men were set to be deported from the US under the controversial Alien Enemies Act from 1798, which would have allowed the White House to deport them from the Bluebonnet Detention Center in Texas.

Trump has insisted that the process for removing suspected TdA members must be expedited to bypass due process out of urgency, arguing that the gang has taken a terrifying foothold in the United States that must be crushed as quickly as possible.

JD Vance met with senior officials from the Vatican following a fractious round of exchanges between Donald Trump’s administration and Pope Francis.

The US vice-president arrived for the meetings with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s secretary of state, on Saturday morning as part of a three-day diplomatic trip to Italy over the Easter weekend.

The Pope has been a long-standing critic of Mr Trump and in February said the president’s mass deportation efforts are driving a “major crisis” that “damages the dignity of men and women”.

Iran and the United States have ended their second round of talks aimed at curbing Iran’s nuclear weapons development and agreed to hold a third next week.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and presidential envoy Steve Witkoff held the second round of talks in Rome on April 19.

As with the first round of talks, which were held in the Omani capital of Muscat last week, the pair negotiated indirectly through an Omani official who shuttled messages between the two sides.

Police have made two more arrests after a wave of vandalism and all-out destruction directed against Tesla facilities and private Tesla owners by leftist lunatics whipped into an anti-Elon Musk frenzy. With each arrest, police flip over a new rock and let us gaze at the latest strange creature that lies beneath — and this week’s arrests will not disappoint the morbidly curious.

Under the first rock, we find 19-year-old UMass Boston student Owen McIntire, who is universally described by police and journalists as a man, but who presents a decidedly feminine appearance — seemingly extending the disproportionate representation of gender-bending criminals in the Tesla-Terror Freak Show.

McIntire, whose parents are both musicians, was arrested in Boston on Friday and faces federal charges of malicious destruction of property and unlawful possession of an unregistered firearm or destructive device. Police say McIntire, while home on spring break, firebombed a Kansas City Tesla dealership with Molotov cocktails at 11:15pm on March 17. The blaze destroyed two Cybertrucks with a combined retail price of more than $212,000, and damaged two charging stations priced at $550 each.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on April 16 fulfilled her past promise to declassify information related to President Joe Biden’s domestic counterterrorism strategy.

Dubbed the “Strategic Implementation Plan” (SIP), the 15-page-long document details the Biden administration’s findings and action plan to counter an alleged increase in homegrown domestic terrorism.

Gabbard released the documents in response to prompting from conservative groups like America First Legal, which expressed concerns about the Biden administration allegedly “censoring disfavored speech on the Internet by labeling such speech ‘misinformation,’ ‘disinformation,’ ‘hate speech,’ ‘domestic terrorism.’”

President Trump’s top economic adviser told reporters Friday the White House is exploring how to fire Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell despite the legal guardrails on his position.

Kevin Hassett, chair of the White House National Economic Council, backed away from his previous concerns about Powell’s firing and said the White House was looking for ways to replace the Fed chief.

“The president and his team will continue to study” if Powell can be fired, Hassett told reporters at the White House.

The Mayo Clinic is renaming its DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) office to instead be called the “Office of Belonging.”

“Since 2020, Mayo Clinic has intentionally focused on belonging as a cornerstone of staff wellbeing,” Andrea Kalmanovitz, Mayo’s director of media relations, said in a statement quoted in the Minnesota Star Tribune.

“In keeping with this focus and recent national events, we’re embracing an opportunity to accelerate Mayo Clinic’s belonging journey to reflect our culture of collaboration and respect and support positive patient experiences,” Kalmanovitz added.
