🔵 Iran Warns US

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned that any U.S. military intervention amid the ongoing Iran–Israel conflict would bring “irreversible repercussions,” declaring that Iran “cannot surrender” under external pressure. President Donald Trump has threatened Iran with demands for “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER,” asserting that Washington “knows where Khamenei is hiding” and weighing whether to join Israeli operations against Tehran.
Khamenei’s televised address rejected surrender and warned that any military intervention would provoke an irreparable response, reinforcing Iran’s stance of steadfast resistance amid escalating regional tensions.
The Iran–Israel conflict has escalated since last week, with mounting casualties and destruction. While President Trump initially said the U.S. military was not involved, his recent statements suggest he may join Israeli strikes, raising concerns about a wider war. Khamenei’s role as Iran’s Supreme Leader has been crucial in rallying national resistance, framing the conflict as a test of Iran’s resolve with dire warnings for U.S. intervention.

The U.S. Embassy in Israel will be closed from Wednesday to Friday because of the ongoing “security situation” in the region, the State Department announced Tuesday.
“Given the security situation and in compliance with Israel Home Front Command guidance, the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday, June 18) through Friday (June 20),” the State Department said in a post on X.
The State Department said that the closures include the Consular Sections in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

President Joe Biden’s USAID awarded an $800 million contract to a business operating out of a Virginia home even after it formally ruled that its key manager lacked “honesty or integrity” — a reference to the fact that, according to a May 12 guilty plea, he had secured USAID contracts through bribery for a decade.
The contract was for addressing “issues affecting the root causes of irregular migration from Central America to the United States” — the work that Biden assigned to Vice President Kamala Harris, but which she never appeared to address, a Daily Wire investigation found.
The Department of Justice announced Friday that Walter Barnes III, the founder of government contractor Vistant (previously known as PM Consulting Group, or PMCG) and Roderick Watson, a USAID contracting official, pleaded guilty to a bribery scheme in which Barnes and two others conspired to pay Watson $1 million in exchange for $544 million in contracts.

Border Patrol agents did not release any illegal migrants into the United States during the month of May, a decrease from the more than 60,000 who were released into the U.S. the year before, according to a report.
The New York Post reported that while Border Patrol agents “caught 8,725” illegal aliens attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border in May, none of them were released into the country. This represents a 93 percent decrease from May 2024, when roughly 62,000 illegal aliens were released into the U.S. under the Biden administration.
In a statement to the outlet, acting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Pete Flores touted how the CBP “has received historic support” under the “leadership” of the Trump administration.

A federal judge found Tuesday that Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier was in civil contempt of court over her ruling to pause a new state law making it a crime for people living in the U.S. illegally to enter the state.
U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams ordered on April 29 that Uthmeier show cause on “why he should not be held in contempt or sanctioned” for violating a temporary restraining order (TRO) from the court, though Williams ultimately decided he was unable to convince her otherwise.
“If being held in contempt is what it costs to defend the rule of law and stand firmly behind President Trump’s agenda on illegal immigration, so be it,” Uthmeier said Tuesday in a post on X.

The four teenagers have been charged with multiple offences, including aggravated sexual assault and sexual intercourse without consent.
The 17-year-old girl was allegedly approached by a 16-year-old boy, who was not known to her, at a shopping centre in Liverpool on December 15.
According to NSW Police, he is accused of following the teenager as she walked to the car park.

The German city of Bargteheide has scrapped plans to demolish a senior citizens’ residential complex on Nelkenweg after vacating all residents, opting instead to house asylum seekers in the building.
Former residents had been told the building was uninhabitable and were forced to relocate. However, following an inspection, just five units will undergo renovation, while the remainder will be used as-is by the new arrivals.
As reported by Abendblatt, Mayor Gabriele Hettwer defended the decision, saying all cost-related issues had been resolved and that a full renovation was unnecessary. “The costs for the removal of mold and other renovation measures are manageable,” she said, noting that a preliminary building application would determine whether the entire complex could eventually be used.
