CNN chief domestic correspondent Jim Acosta is expected to leave the cable news network after his show was replaced and he was yanked from all scheduled programming, according to a report.

Last week, the anchor’s 10 a.m. slot on the network was replaced with “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown” due to the network’s schedule rearrangement.

At the time, there was no official word on where Acosta would fit in, but the network apparently asked him to take on the graveyard shift with a midnight program just days before President Trump’s inauguration.

More than a dozen officials who worked on the criminal investigations into Donald Trump have been fired, according to sources familiar with the matter.

A letter from acting Attorney General James McHenry to the officials said they cannot be “trusted” to “faithfully” implement Trump’s agenda.

“You played a significant role in prosecuting President Trump. The proper functioning of government critically depends on the trust superior officials place in their subordinates,” McHenry wrote. “Given your significant role in prosecuting the President, I do not believe that the leadership of the Department can trust you to assist in implementing the President’s agenda faithfully.”

U.S. Border Patrol agents near Fronton, Texas, reportedly exchanged gunfire at the southern border with suspected drug cartel gunmen from Mexico.

There were no injuries in the incident near Fronton Island, an uninhabited island in the Rio Grande in Starr County, Texas, according to reports. The island is a disputed territory about which Texas and Mexico have made conflicting ownership claims.

NewsNation’s Ali Bradley reported that while the suspected cartel has fired shots from the Mexican side of the territory for years, things in the area have escalated “in unprecedented ways since President [Donald] Trump was elected—Even giving orders to shoot at agents recently.”

A northwest Indiana man who was charged in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021 breach of the U.S. Capitol building was shot and killed by an Indiana sheriff’s deputy during a traffic stop Sunday afternoon.

The shooting happened at 4:15 p.m. during a traffic stop on State Road 14, east of County Road 475 E, near the Pulaski County line.

During the traffic stop, a Jasper County sheriff’s deputy attempted to arrest the suspect, but the suspect resisted, officials said.

Longtime political advisers to Vice President JD Vance are joining biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy’s expected 2026 campaign for governor of Ohio, The Post has reported.

Andy Surabian, who served as an adviser to Vance during the Republican’s 2022 Senate and 2024 vice presidential runs, confirmed to The Post he will oversee the outside political action committee aligned with Ramaswamy’s gubernatorial campaign.

Vance and Donald Trump Jr. ally Arthur Schwartz has added that he will work for the pro-Ramaswamy super PAC as well.

Comedian Roseanne Barr revealed she’s working on shopping a sitcom to Hollywood she wrote that centers on a family that “save America with guns, the Bible, petty crime and alcoholism.”

Speaking to Variety about her latest project, the 72-year-old actress said the new sitcom, which she and “Roseanne” alum Allan Stephan wrote, is a “a cross between ‘The Roseanne Show’ and ‘The Sopranos.’” It centers on the family of an Alabama farmer who’s “saving the United States from drug gangs and China.”

“It’s silly and out there,” Barr said. “[It will contain] very offensive ideas and a lot of swearing. I live with my daughter and her husband and their six children on a farm.”

Chinese AI company DeepSeek was forced to limit new user registrations Monday after “large-scale malicious attacks” hit its services, the company said.

DeepSeek’s latest models demonstrated capabilities that rivaled those of its U.S. competitors while being built at a fraction of the cost — alarming investors and prompting a global sell-off of tech stocks.

Existing users could log in as normal, DeepSeek wrote in an incident report Monday.
