šŸ”µ Kristi Noem Robbed

Good evening. It’s Monday, April 21.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s pricey Gucci bag was stolen with $3,000 in cash inside during a dinner outing at a Washington, DC, restaurant Sunday night.

Noem, 53, had been dining at The Capital Burger about one mile northeast of the White House.

A person familiar with the case told The Post the DHS secretary had just finished paying when she felt a brush against her leg — which she initially thought was one of her grandchildren before realizing her bag was missing.

President Trump on Monday defended Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth amid reports he’s looking to replace the Cabinet member.

Hegseth is at the center of a bombshell report on his use of Signal, which has raised questions about his ability to run the nation’s largest government agency.

The Pentagon denied reports Sunday that Hegseth sent details of planned U.S. attacks against Yemen’s Houthi rebels in a Signal chat group that included his wife, brother and lawyer.

Elon Musk is preparing to exit the US federal government, the Washington Post reported on Monday.

The publication noted that the date of Musk’s departure is still unknown, but that his status as a special government employee will expire in May.

The report also noted that Musk’s departure will come as the federal government has a patchwork of inconsistent policies regarding bureaucrats’ productivity.

President Donald Trump said his administration is ā€œbringing religion back in Americaā€ as he addressed the annual White House Easter Egg Roll hours after the death of Pope Francis.

Trump, speaking Monday from the White House’s South Portico next to first lady Melania Trump and a costumed Easter bunny, paid respects to the pope in brief remarks.

ā€œHe was a good man, worked hard, he loved the world,ā€ Trump said at the start of the 147th iteration of the White House egg roll tradition. Trump said he ordered U.S. and state flags to be lowered to half-staff to honor the pope, who died earlier in the day at 88 years old.

Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been criminally referred to the Department of Justice by House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) over allegedly false statements Cuomo made to Congress regarding Covid-19 impact on nursing home deaths.

In a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, Comer wrote that the ā€œSelect Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic is examining the United States’ response to the COVID-19 pandemic,ā€ and that as part of the investigation, the committee ā€œconducted a transcribed interview with the former Governor of the State of New York, Andrew M. Cuomo, who was accompanied by counsel.ā€

ā€œDuring the transcribed interview, the Select Subcommittee believes that Mr. Cuomo made false statements about his involvement in and knowledge of the drafting of the July 6 Report,ā€ the letter added.

Vatican officials revealed Monday evening that Pope Francis died of a cerebral stroke followed by a coma and ultimately ā€œirreversible cardiocirculatory collapse.ā€

Professor Andrea Arcangeli, Director of the Directorate of Health and Hygiene of the Vatican City State, issued the official certification per the Holy See Press Office late Monday.

Arcangeli confirmed the Pontiff’s death through electrocardiographic thanatography, stating, ā€œI hereby declare that the causes of death, to the best of my knowledge and judgment, are as stated.ā€

Stocks fell again on Monday as President Donald Trump ramped up his attacks on Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, raising questions about the central bank’s independence, while traders received few signs of progress on global trade talks.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 971.82 points, or 2.48% to close at 38,170.41. The S&P 500 shed 2.36% and ended at 5,158.20, and the Nasdaq Composite lost 2.55% to settle at 15,870.90.

ā€œMagnificent Sevenā€ tech titans dragged the major indexes lower, with Tesla and Nvidia respectively losing 5.8% and more than 4%. Amazon shed 3%, as did Meta Platforms. Equipment manufacturer Caterpillar declined 2.8%.

Kanye West posted another disturbing message to X on Monday, but this time it was not about Hitler: The rapper claimed to have had an incestuous relationship with his cousin until he was 14-years-old.

West made the revelation as he shared a video for the song ā€œCousins,ā€ which begins with the lyrics, ā€œHanging out with my cousin readin’ dirty magazines.ā€

ā€œThis song is called ā€˜COUSINS’ about my cousin that’s locked in jail for life for killing a pregnant lady a few years after I told him we wouldn’t ā€˜look at dirty magazines together’ anymore,ā€ he wrote in his tweet.
