Two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses were shot by someone impersonating a police officer, sources confirmed to FOX 9. Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were killed.
Sen. John Hoffman and his wife were shot in the overnight shootings in Champlin and Brooklyn Park. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is “cautiously optimistic” they will survive.
Hortman, was Democrat from Brooklyn Park, and represented District 34B. Hoffman, a Democrat from Champlin, represents Senate District 34.

Cities large and small were preparing for major demonstrations Saturday across the U.S. against President Donald Trump, as officials urge calm, National Guard troops mobilize and Trump attends a military parade in Washington to mark the Army’s 250th anniversary.
A flagship “No Kings” march and rally are planned in Philadelphia, but no events are scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C., where the military parade will take place on Trump’s birthday
The demonstrations are gaining additional fuel from protests flaring up around the country over federal immigration enforcement raids and Trump ordering National Guard troops and Marines to Los Angeles where protesters blocked a freeway and set cars on fire.

President Donald Trump’s multi-million dollar festival and parade celebrating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army kicks off Saturday morning, June 14 and will continue late into the evening – rain or shine, the White House says.
The 250th Birthday of the U.S. Army Grand Military Parade will conclude a day-long festival, full of music, fireworks and a fitness competition. The pomp and circumstance also coincides with Trump’s 79th birthday.
“For two and a half centuries, the men and women of America’s Army have dominated our enemies and protected our freedom at home,” Trump said in a video posted to Truth Social in early June. “This parade salutes our soldiers’ remarkable strength and unbeatable spirit. You won’t want to miss it. Just don’t miss this one. It’s going to be good.”

Israel’s military headquarters were struck after Iran’s Islamic Republic unleashed a barrage of missiles on central Tel Aviv late Friday night, causing “significant damage” to the Jewish state’s equivalent of the Pentagon.
Alarming footage shared on social media — and verified by The New York Times — showed a strike slamming into an area that houses several military sites, including the Israel Defense Forces’ main command center.
The dramatic clips captured interceptor missiles firing into the sky moments before a blinding flash, a thunderous boom, and the explosion of an incoming warhead.

Political pundit Tucker Carlson criticized President Trump on Friday, saying he is “complicit” in Israel’s attack on Iran and warning the escalating conflict between the two nations could lead the U.S. into war.
Carlson, as part of his morning newsletter, said Trump was “complicit in the act of war,” noting the U.S. long-standing alliance with Israel, which attacked several military targets in Iran overnight Thursday and killed top Iranian military leaders — leading to fears of an all out war between the two nations.
“What happens next will define Donald Trump’s presidency,” Carlson wrote in his newsletter, which was highlighted by several media outlets.

Roughly 60 demonstrators were arrested on Friday outside the US Capitol after breaching a police line of bike racks and advancing toward steps leading to the Capitol Rotunda, according to Capitol Police.
According to organizers, the group of veterans and military family members planned a sit-in on the Capitol steps to protest President Donald Trump’s deployment of the National Guard and active-duty Marines in Los Angeles to respond to anti-ICE protests, as well as a military parade scheduled for Saturday.
The parade on Saturday also comes on Trump’s 79th birthday.

China owns over 380,000 acres of land in the United States, much of it adjacent to or near US military bases. The national security concern was highlighted after Israel was able to carry out an attack on Iran from inside the borders of the terror-aligned regime.
Utah resident Jennica Pounds, also known as Data Republican on X, highlighted the concern after Israel was able to attack Iran from within the country’s borders.
“Serious question. After seeing what Israel did to Iran last night, why are we not taking back the CCP farmland TODAY?” Pounds wrote, citing a map from a New York Post report published last year showing that China owns farmland near 19 different US military bases across America.
