đ” Moderna Faces Suspension
Good morning. Itâs Sunday, April 27.

Moderna could face suspension from Britainâs pharmaceutical trade body following a string of breaches of the regulatory code.
The Covid vaccine maker is due to be audited by the Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority (PMCPA) over âunacceptableâ practices that brought discredit upon the industry.
If found to be lacking adequate compliance systems, Moderna could ultimately be suspended or expelled from the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (APBI).

At least nine people have been killed after an SUV rammed through a packed street festival in Vancouver on Saturday night.
The vehicle rammed through the crowd at the Lapu Lapu Day event at around 8pm local time, leaving multiple people dead and scores more injured.
Detectives said a 30-year-old man, from the city and âknown to policeâ, was âtaken into custody by people in the crowdâ before being arrested at the scene following the âmass casualty incidentâ.

The suspect who was arrested Saturday in the theft of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noemâs purse is in the country illegally, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia said in an interview with NBC News.
Ed Martin said a second suspect who also is in the country illegally is being sought by law enforcement.
It is not believed the suspect targeted Noem because she was the Department of Homeland Security chief, Martin said.

A massive anti-immigration protest unfolded in the city streets of the Dublin City Centre on Saturday as public concerns surrounding mass migration backfired.

Donald Trump Jr., megadonor Omeed Malik and several other investors are launching an invite-only club that costs more than half a million to join with an exclusive post-White House Correspondentsâ Dinner gathering, according to an invite obtained by POLITICO and two people with knowledge of the venture, granted anonymity to discuss the private organization.
The âExecutive Branchâ is the brainchild of Malik and the presidentâs eldest son, and their partners at conservative fund 1789 Capital. It will be located in Georgetown.
Their goal, the people familiar with the plans say, is to create the highest-end private club that Washington has ever had, and cater to the business and tech moguls who are looking to nurture their relationships with the Trump administration.

China has seized a disputed reef just kilometres away from the Philippinesâ most important military outpost in the South China Sea, raising the risk of a new stand-off between the two rival claimants.
The China Coast Guard âimplemented maritime control and exercised sovereign jurisdictionâ over Sandy Cay this month, the military channel of state broadcaster CCTV reported on Saturday. It said coastguard officers had unfurled the Chinese flag to declare sovereignty over the reef in the Spratly Islands, showing a photograph of the act.
The move marks the first time in many years that Beijing, which claims the South China Sea almost in its entirety, has officially planted its flag on another previously unoccupied land feature.

A massive explosion and fire rocked a port Saturday in southern Iran purportedly linked to a shipment of a chemical ingredient used to make missile propellant, killing 25 people and injuring around 800 others.
Helicopters and aircraft dumped water from the air on the raging fire through the night into Sunday morning at the Shahid Rajaei port. The explosion occurred just as Iran and the United States met Saturday in Oman for the third round of negotiations over Tehranâs rapidly advancing nuclear program.
No one in Iran outright suggested that the explosion came from an attack. However, even Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who led the talks, on Wednesday acknowledged that âour security services are on high alert given past instances of attempted sabotage and assassination operations designed to provoke a legitimate response.â
