The Department of Homeland Security has arrested two MS-13 gang leaders wanted in El Salvador for violent crimes that include murder, drug trafficking, and gang conspiracy.
One of these gang leaders, The Daily Wire can exclusively report, is Rene Escobar-Ochoa, arrested on July 9 during a coordinated enforcement operation in Omaha, Nebraska. Though U.S. Border Patrol encountered him as far back as 2023, he was allowed to remain in the country under President Joe Bidenâs administration, DHS shared.
Escobar-Ochoa faces an âINTERPOL Red Noticeâ from El Salvador for conspiracy to commit murder and drug trafficking, DHS said.

Lawyer Alan Dershowitz on Thursday said he knows the list of names in the Jeffrey Epstein files regarding alleged clients in his international sex trafficking ring.
âI know the names of the individuals. I know why theyâre being suppressed. I know whoâs suppressing them,â Dershowitz said during an appearance on âThe Sean Spicer Show.â
âBut Iâm bound by confidentiality from a judge and cases, and I canât disclose what I know,â he added, noting at one point he was falsely named as a client.

The man behind a popular pro-Trump X account effectively had his conviction tossed on Wednesday, after the Biden-era Department of Justice was ready to imprison him for memes that mocked Hillary Clinton voters during the 2016 presidential election.
Douglass Mackey, who was charged by the Biden DOJ some four years after posting the memes in question, was facing a stunning 10 years behind bars. After the DOJ secured a conviction, Mackey was sentenced to seven months behind bars in 2023, but the sentence was delayed by an appeals court.
On Wednesday, a three-judge panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit reversed Mackeyâs conviction and directed a lower court to enter a judgment of acquittal.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem savaged a CNN report Thursday stating she delayed FEMAâs response to the deadly Texas flooding from last weekend.
During a segment on âFox & Friends,â Noem responded to CNNâs piece, which alleged that FEMA â an agency under DHS â ran into âbureaucratic obstaclesâ imposed by the secretary that slowed the agency in providing life-saving resources to the victims of the disaster in central Texas.
âWell, there you go. Fake News. CNN again. Itâs absolutely trash what theyâre doing by saying that,â Noem told the Fox News Channel hosts.

President Trump announced Thursday plans for a 35% tariff on goods imported from Canada that would take effect on Aug. 1.
The latest twist in the off-on trade war with Canada comes after the key trading partner rescinded its digital services tax to advance broader trade negotiations with the U.S. as it works toward an economic deal ahead of a July 21 deadline.
Trump has taken an openly aggressive position with Canada of late, threatening to call off talks altogether over the digital services tax, and now setting a new levy while the two sides are in the middle of negotiations.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and his wife Angela announced their divorce on Thursday, with his wife citing âbiblical groundsâ as cause for their split.
The divorce could complicate the effort by Paxton â who has previously overcome criminal charges and impeachment â to challenge Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) in one of the most closely-watched primary battles ahead of next yearâs midterms.
Angela Paxton, who is also a state senator, wrote in a social media post that she filed for divorce from her husband after ârecent discoveriesâ pushed her to end their marriage after 38 years. She did not specify what those discoveries were.
