🔵 Musk-Trump Feud Explodes

The growing feud between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk reached a boiling point on Thursday afternoon when Musk voiced support for creating a third political party and Trump threatened to pull Musk’s governmental subsidies and contracts.
“Is it time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle,” Musk wrote in a post on X.
The Tesla founder included a poll for his more than 200 million followers asking users to vote “yes” or “no” on the idea of a third political party to challenge Republicans and Democrats.

President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a phone call Thursday amid ongoing tensions between the two superpowers — with a new in-person meeting planned soon.
Chinese state media and the Chinese foreign ministry said the call happened at the White House’s request. The Chinese foreign ministry said Thursday morning that the call was ongoing as of 9 a.m. ET.
In a Truth Social post just before 11 a.m., Trump said the call lasted about 90 minutes, but provided few details about it other than that it focused on trade. He said a meeting will now be held “shortly” between representatives from the two nations at a location to be determined.

A Guatemalan migrant who was deported to Mexico was returned to the United States after a court order.
The man identified as O.C.G. was deported to Mexico after expressing fear of being sent back to his home country, though he also claimed he was in danger if sent to the U.S.’s southern neighbor. The Mexican government offered to deport him to Guatemala, which he accepted before being returned to the U.S. He said he was in danger because he is gay.
Brian E. Murphy of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts ruled last week that the Department of Justice must “facilitate” O.C.G.’s return to the U.S. to argue his case, a ruling the Trump administration is following.

The Supreme Court ruled unanimously in favor of an Ohio woman who claimed she was discriminated against for job promotions in favor of gay candidates on Thursday.
The ruling, Ames v. Ohio Department of Youth Services, finds that members of majority groups in protected classes do not need to meet a higher standard of evidence in order to establish discrimination. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wrote the opinion of the court in the 9-0 decision.
“The Sixth Circuit has implemented a rule that requires certain Title VII plaintiffs—those who are members of majority groups—to satisfy a heightened evidentiary standard,” Jackson wrote. “We conclude that Title VII does not impose such a heightened standard on majority group plaintiffs. Therefore, the judgment below is vacated.”

The three young sisters who went missing during a visitation with their father, Travis Decker, have been tragically found dead.
The Decker sisters — Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8 and Olivia, 5 — were found dead on June 2, after vanishing on May 30. Following the news of their deaths, a GoFundMe page was set up for their mother, Whitney Decker, by friend Amy Edwards, who described the tragedy as “heartbreaking.”
“We are heartbroken to share that the girls have since passed. Their light touched so many, and the pain of this loss is immeasurable,” Edwards wrote, adding in an update that she will “miss seeing their sweet little faces.”

The ship is expected to arrive within a week.

Amazon is reportedly developing software for humanoid robots that could perform the role of delivery workers and “spring out” of its vans.
The $2tn (£1.47tn) technology company is building a “humanoid park” in the US to test the robots, said the tech news site the Information, citing a person who had been involved in the project.
The Information reported that the robots could eventually take the jobs of delivery workers. It is developing the artificial intelligence software that would power the robots but will use hardware developed by other companies.
