🔵 New Ukraine Peace Deal
Good evening. It’s Sunday, March 2.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Sunday laid out a framework for a plan to end Russia’s war in Ukraine — one where Europe will lead the charge for securing peace — while still relying heavily on U.S. backing.
The proposal is the result of emergency talks held by European leaders in London following President Trump’s heated exchange with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House last week.
Over the weekend, leaders from over a dozen countries got together to discuss a roadmap to peace and security for Ukraine, as the country faces its third year of war with Russia. The emergency summit was also aimed at working to preserve Ukraine’s relationship with the U.S. and America’s involvement in the war overseas.

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster declared a state of emergency Sunday as wildfires in the Carolinas and Georgia scorched thousands of acres and forced people to flee their homes.
More than 175 fires were burning in South Carolina, the governor’s office said earlier Sunday, fueled by unusually dry conditions and gusty winds. Those conditions are expected to fade as a cold front pushes out the dry air mass over the Southeast U.S. and brings rain by Tuesday, the National Weather Service said. By early Monday, that number was down to 163, according to the South Carolina Forestry Commission.
In Horry County, a fire near Myrtle Beach and the Carolina Forest area had burned 1,600 acres by Sunday night and was 30% contained, according to the forestry commission.

Nine protesters received arrests from the massive demonstration at a Tesla dealership in New York City during Saturday’s protests which targeted Elon Musk’s federal workforce cuts throughout multiple U.S. locations.
The protests which activists named “Tesla Takedown” focused on how Musk joined the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
New York became the epicenter of hundreds of protesters who joined demonstrations alongside Tesla showrooms in Jacksonville, Florida and Tucson, Arizona and other cities throughout the United States.

Elon Musk backed calls for the US to withdraw from NATO and the United Nations after months of badmouthing the two international organizations.
“I agree,” Musk, 53, wrote on X in reply late Saturday to MAGA influencer Gunther Eagleman’s suggestion that “It’s time to leave NATO and the UN.”
Musk did not elaborate on the specifics of why he wants the US to pull out of NATO and the UN, but the suggestion came after several social media users pointed to Sen. Mike Lee’s (R-Utah) call to pull out of both.

A Canadian women’s college basketball conference championship game on Saturday night saw a transgender player score 21 points in victory and ultimately win tournament MVP.
Trans athlete Harriette Mackenzie led Vancouver Island University (VIU) to a 69-59 victory over Columbia Christian College (CBC) in the PACWEST Championship game. Mackenzie finished the game with 10 rebounds in addition to the athlete’s game-leading 21 points.
Mackenzie was then awarded conference tournament MVP in a ceremony after the game. It capped off a season in which the athlete punished competition on the court, leading the entire conference in scoring by a 62-point margin over the second-place scorer, and leveraged Canada’s anti-discrimination laws to bring punishment to CBC off the court.

An off-duty Boston cop fatally shot a lunatic who was trying to stab people at a Chick-fil-A over the weekend, prompting city officials to fall over themselves to offer heartfelt condolences — to the perp’s family.
The officer was in the right place at the right time in Boston’s wealthy Back Bay neighborhood Saturday evening when two people being chased by the knife-wielding man fled into the restaurant fearing for their lives.
The cop identified himself and ordered the suspect to drop his knife. When the armed maniac didn’t comply, the officer shot him. The suspect was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, NBC10 Boston reported. There were no additional reported injuries.
