🔵 NYC Mass Shooting

A 36-year-old married police officer and three other people were shot and killed by a crazed gunman who stormed a swanky Midtown skyscraper early Monday evening — sparking mayhem in Midtown before turning the gun on himself, police said.
The 27-year-old maniac, identified as Las Vegas resident Shane Tamura, barged into the 44-story building — which houses Blackstone and the NFL headquarters — armed with a rifle and opened fire at around 6:30 p.m. during the evening rush, cops and law enforcement sources told The Post.
Tamura, who authorities said had a “documented mental health history,” unleashed his rampage after setting foot in the lobby, first gunning down officer Didarul Islam, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said at a Monday evening press conference.

Five people have been charged over a vicious beatdown on a Cincinnati street after footage of the wild brawl went viral.
The suspects’ names were not released, and Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge declined to specify the charges – but cautioned more arrests were expected.
“We have five we have charged, and anticipate more,” Theetge told reporters Monday, two days after the 3 a.m. Saturday incident which she referred to as a “fight.”

On Monday, President Donald Trump told reporters that his name may have been planted in the Jeffrey Epstein files by former Attorney General Merrick Garland or former FBI director James Comey.
Trump was asked in Turnberry, Scotland, “You had said you had not been briefed that your name was in the Epstein files, doesn’t the AG have to tell you?”
The president responded, in part, “Well, I haven’t been overly interested in it. It’s a hoax that’s been built up by those, way beyond proportion. Those files were run by the worst scum on earth. They were run by Comey, they were run by Garland, they were run by Biden. Those files were run for four years by those people.”

Donald Trump’s administration has denied permission for Taiwan’s President Lai Ching-te to stop in New York en route to Central America, after China raised objections with Washington about the visit.
Lai planned to transit the US in August en route to Paraguay, Guatemala and Belize, which recognise Taiwan as a country. But the US told Lai he could not visit New York on the way, according to three people familiar with the decision.
On Monday in Taipei, Lai’s office issued a statement saying he had no plans to travel overseas in the near future because Taiwan was recovering from a recent typhoon and Taipei was in talks with the US about tariffs.

President Trump will conclude his four-day trip to his ancestral homeland of Scotland on Tuesday.
The final engagement on Trump’s official schedule before his return is the opening of a new golf course, in memory of his late mother, in Aberdeen on the east coast of Scotland.
That’s a fitting conclusion to a trip that has included some Trump brand promotion in addition to official business.

A federal judge on Monday blocked a provision in the Republicans’ “One Big Beautiful Bill” that barred Medicaid reimbursements from going to Planned Parenthood.
U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani in Boston, an Obama appointee, issued a preliminary injunction, saying it was likely unconstitutional to specifically target Planned Parenthood’s health centers for punishment for providing abortions, Reuters reported.
The provisions contained in the bill prohibit abortion providers from receiving Medicaid funding for up to one year for any other reproductive health services they may provide.

A widely circulated video showcasing a gay couple’s “surrogacy journey” has revealed that a baby boy is currently in the custody of a registered child sex offender. The couple, Logan Riley and Brandon Mitchell, gained viral attention after posting a video introducing their newborn son. It has since emerged that Mitchell is a convicted pedophile.
The video, which was initially shared by the couple on their own social media platforms, was meant to offer a heartwarming glimpse into the first year of their newborn’s life. However, it quickly drew scrutiny after being reposted on July 27 by Irish right-wing activist and political figure Derek Blighe on X (formerly Twitter).
“Unless a miracle happens, this child has almost no chance at a normal life,” Blighe wrote in the caption, a post that has since garnered over one million views. At the time, the couple’s identities were not publicly known, and Blighe’s post drew criticism and ridicule, particularly from advocates of same-sex adoption, who dismissed his concerns as homophobic.
