Muslim socialist Zohran Mamdani is on track to secure the Democratic nomination for mayor, after former Gov. Andrew Cuomo conceded to him Tuesday night.
Mamdani was leading 10 other Democrats — including his top opponent, scandal-ridden Cuomo — in the first round of the ranked-choice election as of late Tuesday night.
Mamdani’s policy proposals include rent freezes, ‘free’ buses, and city-run grocery stores, all funded by $10 billion in new taxes on corporations and the wealthy.

A bipartisan House voted to table an impeachment effort by Rep. Al Green (D-TX) on Tuesday, a blow to the Democrat’s efforts after offering up various impeachment articles against President Donald Trump in the last few months.
The House voted 344 to 79, with 128 Democrats joining all Republicans who voted. The vote effectively killed Green’s effort to launch an impeachment inquiry.
Many Democrats, including those in leadership, have brushed off their caucus members’ attempts for an impeachment inquiry as a waste of time that will go nowhere. House Democrats have twice impeached Trump during his first term, only for him to be acquitted by the Senate.

A classified preliminary U.S. intelligence report suggested that the Trump administration’s initial assessment of damage to Iran’s nuclear program from U.S. strikes was overblown, CNN reported.
An assessment from the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Defense Department’s intelligence wing, surveyed the damage from the United States’s B-2 strikes with 30,000-pound bunker-buster munitions and smaller follow-up strikes from Israel’s air force, sources told several outlets. Based on information gathered from a U.S. Central Command assessment, the DIA estimated that the strikes on the nuclear facilities, particularly the Fordow fuel enrichment plant, set Iran’s nuclear program back by less than six months.
The assessment is a far cry from President Donald Trump’s public estimate that the U.S. strikes “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

Texas Teenager Karmelo Anthony has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of a 17-year-old at a high school track meet in April.
Anthony, also 17, was indicted by a grand jury Tuesday for allegedly killing Austin Metcalf after a dispute over a seat at the University Interscholastic League’s District 11-5A championship on April 2.
“For weeks, my team has been presenting evidence to the grand jury. Today, I summarized that evidence, and I asked the Grand Jury to return a first-degree murder indictment against Karmelo Anthony and — which they did,” Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said in a press conference Tuesday.

Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.) has nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for the president’s role in brokering this week’s ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel.
Carter said he wrote a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee on Tuesday to “formally nominate” Trump for the coveted prize “in recognition of his extraordinary and historic role in brokering an end to the armed conflict between Israel and Iran.”
It is unclear if the ceasefire will hold, and Trump berated both sides Tuesday morning before leaving for a NATO summit in Europe.

The FBI has initiated criminal investigations of three children’s hospitals after commitments from Attorney General Pam Bondi that the Trump administration would enforce federal statutes outlawing female genital mutilation to protect children from often irreversible sex-change surgeries.
The investigations target providers who work at Boston Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital Colorado and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, according to a source familiar with the investigation who spoke to Fox News Digital on the condition of anonymity. These hospitals have been among some of the foremost providers of sex change procedures for minors in America over the last several years, according to the source.
Just days after taking office, President Donald Trump issued an executive order directing all federal agencies to work toward terminating the ability for children under 18 to receive “irreversible medical interventions” as a treatment for gender dysphoria. Part of that effort included Attorney General Bondi issuing a memorandum several weeks later, directing Justice Department personnel to enforce 18 U.S.C. § 116, which is a federal statute that makes female genital mutilation against the law.

A 12-year-old girl who was repeatedly raped by three Slovakian men ‘wanted to die’ after her 72-hour ordeal and now wakes up ‘screaming in the middle of the night’, her parents have revealed.
The schoolgirl was subjected to the living nightmare after depraved Kevin Horvath, 26, and bodybuilding brute Ivan Turtak, 38, lured her into their car in an Asda car park in Dover, Kent.
She was then plied with drugs, including crystal meth and amphetamine, and repeatedly raped and subjected to sickening sexual acts by monsters Horvath, Turtak, and a third man, Ernest Gunar, 27.
