🔵 Protesters Target Vance
Good evening. It’s Saturday, March 8.

Vice President JD Vance said Saturday he was confronted by pro-Ukrainian protesters while he was out walking with his 3-year-old daughter.
“Today while walking my 3 year old daughter a group of ‘Slava Ukraini’ protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared,” Vance posted Saturday afternoon on X.
“I decided to speak with the protesters in the hopes that I could trade a few minutes of conversation for them leaving my toddler alone,” he continued. “Nearly all of them agreed.”

President Donald Trump praised the new spending bill unveiled by the House on Saturday, calling it a “very good” bill that will ensure the government has time to “put the Country’s ‘financial house’ in order.”
In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump, while lauding the bill that will fund the government until the end of fiscal 2025 in late September, said it is “very important” that there is no dissent from House Republicans and urged them all to vote in favor of it as they can only afford to lose one vote to pass the continuing resolution along party lines.
“The House and Senate have put together, under the circumstances, a very good funding Bill (‘CR’)! All Republicans should vote (Please!) YES next week. Great things are coming for America, and I am asking you all to give us a few months to get us through to September so we can continue to put the Country’s ‘financial house’ in order. Democrats will do anything they can to shut down our Government, and we can’t let that happen. We have to remain UNITED — NO DISSENT — Fight for another day when the timing is right. VERY IMPORTANT. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” the president said.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is in the process of launching a large study into possible links between autism and vaccines, sources familiar with the issue told Reuters.
The study has not been confirmed, and it is unclear how the study will be carried out, the outlet reported.
A Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Friday, “The American people expect high quality research and transparency and that is what CDC is delivering.”

Kid Rock announced he’s taking Bill Maher to the White House to “break bread” with President Donald Trump as part of an effort to “unite” the country.
Vocal Trump supporter Rock revealed his plans while speaking with The Blaze’s Glenn Beck this week.
The musician said he proposed a dinner at the end of the month between himself, Real Time host Maher, and the president when he recently appeared on Maher’s Club Random podcast.

The frontrunner to take over the reins from Justin Trudeau on Sunday when Canada’s Liberal Party chooses its new leader is a tough-talking former Goldman Sachs executive who has compared President Trump to the Harry Potter villain Voldemort.
Mark Carney, credited with helping Canada dodge the worst of the 2008 financial crisis when he was governor of the Bank of Canada, is viewed by his countryman as the politician most trusted to handle Trump, polls show.
“When you think about what’s at stake in these ridiculous, insulting comments of the president, of what we could be, I view this as the sort of Voldemort of comments,” Carney, 59, referring to Trump’s threats to make Canada the 51st US state.

China announced new steep tariffs on Canadian food products on Saturday, the latest blow to the country as it simultaneously grapples with fierce trade negotiations with U.S. President Donald Trump.
The tariffs, announced by China’s State Council Tariff Commission, include a 100% tax on canola oil, canola meal, and peas, along with a 25% tax on pork and seafood.
The Chinese tariff commission said these are in response to Canada’s 100% tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles and 25% tariff on Chinese steel and aluminum that went into effect last fall.

North Korea has released its first pictures of a nuclear-powered submarine under construction, which could dramatically change the security calculus in the region.
State media released a bulletin on Saturday with photos of dictator Kim Jong-un visiting a North Korean shipyard that is said to build military vessels.
On the visit, Kim “learned about the building of a nuclear-powered strategic guided missile submarine” as part of the country’s “important goals … for building the country into an advanced maritime power,” the bulletin said.
