A newly declassified FBI memo detailing the findings of its probe into Fusion GPS contractor Nellie Ohr about the veracity of her testimony to Congress delivers new details about the Hillary Clinton campaignâs fingerprints on the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation. The New York Post reported that Ohr, the wife of a former Justice Department official, gave âdemonstrably falseâ testimony to Congress about her involvement in drafting and disseminating the since-debunked dossiers.
The memo was released on Wednesday by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and shows the bureau assessed that Nellie Ohr likely lied to Congress in her testimony about the genesis of the infamous Steele Dossier, her interactions with Justice Department officials, and knowledge of the Trump-Russia probe, known inside the government as âCrossfire Hurricane.â
Ohr denied knowledge of DOJ probe under oath
Nellie Ohr was a researcher and analyst doing work for Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm hired by Hillary Clintonâs 2016 campaign to conduct anti-Trump opposition research. That firm eventually hired disgraced British ex-spy Christopher Steele, who produced the infamous Steele Dossier and other fictional material that provided the ostensible basis for Bidenâs Justice Department to probe Trump.

Iran has continued to produce highly enriched uranium at a pace of roughly one nuclear weaponâs worth a month over the past three months despite talks between Washington and Tehran on a new nuclear deal, the United Nations atomic agency said.
The International Atomic Energy Agency said in a confidential report circulated to member states that Iran had grown its stockpile of 60%-enriched uranium to 408.6 kilograms from 274.8 kilograms in early February, an increase of around 50%. The Wall Street Journal viewed a copy of the report.
That means Iran has enough highly enriched uranium for roughly 10 nuclear weapons, based on IAEA measures of the minimum fissile material required, up from at least six at the time of the last report.

Hamas has said it has agreed to release ten living hostages being held captive by the terror group and return the bodies of 18 others.
The group, which has been on the State Departmentâs list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations since 1997, made the announcement in a statement Saturday and said it was being done on the condition that a number of Palestinian prisoners be returned in exchange as part of a means to achieve a permanent ceasefire.
Hamas said the agreement comes after a proposal by U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, who has yet to comment publicly on the Hamas statement.

The Justice Department opened an inquiry Wednesday into whether a California state law allowing transgender student athletes to compete in womenâs sports violates federal Title IX rules against sex discrimination.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond, the Jurupa Unified School District and the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) were informed of the investigation in âletters of legal noticeâ sent by the DOJ.
The CIF oversees high school sports in the state, and the Jurupa Unified School District is home to the school where a transgender track athlete recently won titles in the girlsâ long jump and triple jump.

Republican support for gay marriage hit its lowest point in nearly a decade while Democrat support has never been higher.
In a new Gallup poll, Americans were asked if they thought âmarriages between same-sex couplesâ should be recognized by law, with the same rights as traditional marriages. Only 41% of Republicans thought they should be, while a whopping 88% of Democrats said the marriages should be legal.
The GOP numbers represented the lowest amount of support for same-sex marriage in the poll since 2016 when it was 40%, while in 2015 it was just 30%.

The Food and Drug Administration approved Modernaâs next-generation COVID-19 vaccine for adults 65 and older and those 12 to 64 years old with at least one underlying condition that could put them at risk of severe infection, the company said Saturday.
It was the first such approval since FDA tightened COVID vaccine standards and required drugmakers to conduct more studies before approving updated shots for healthy adults under 65.
Regulators under HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are putting new restrictions on COVID vaccines, including no longer recommending them for healthy children and healthy pregnant women.

Hundreds of Saudi women are being held in âhellishâ conditions in secretive care homes, used to ârehabilitateâ women banished by their families, according to a report in the Guardian. Over a period of six months, the Guardian collected testimonies about conditions in the care homes, known as Dar al-Reaya.
The homes are where women are sent by their families or husbands for alleged disobedience, extramarital sexual relations or absence from home. Conditions were described to the Guardian as âhellishâ, and included weekly floggings, forced religious teaching and a ban on any contact with the outside world.
Sarah al-Yahia, who lives in exile and campaigns for the abolition of the homes, said she had spoken to a number of inmates about life in the homes. The women and girls described several abuses, including being given sedatives to put them to sleep, strip searches and virginity tests.
