šŸ”µ SCOTUS Blocks Deportations

Good morning. It’s Saturday, April 19.

The Supreme Court early Saturday morning paused the deportation of immigrants potentially subject to the Alien Enemies Act, freezing action in a fast-developing case involving a group of immigrants in Texas who say the Trump administration was working to remove them.

The court’s brief order drew dissents from conservative Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas.

Attorneys for the Venezuelans at issue in the case filed an emergency appeal at the high court on Friday, claiming they were at immediate risk of being removed from the country and had not been provided sufficient notice to challenge their deportation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Saturday an ā€œEaster truceā€ for Moscow’s war against Ukraine.

Moscow’s war against its Eastern European neighbor has been grinding on for more than three years, and Putin’s announcement comes after Russia launched deadly missile strikes against Ukraine on Palm Sunday last weekend and on Good Friday this week.

The truce announcement also comes as President Donald Trump’s administration works to negotiate a peace deal between Moscow and Kyiv. Although on Friday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested the administration may soon walk away from the effort.

New York state Attorney General Letitia James said in a new interview that the Trump administration’s criminal referral of her for mortgage fraud is ā€œbaselessā€ but declined to give details.

James appeared on Spectrum NY1’s ā€œInside City Hallā€ Thursday, attempting to swat down allegations from the Trump administration that she falsified real estate records in Virginia and New York.

ā€œLet me just say to all New Yorkers and to all Americans: The allegations are baseless. The allegations are nothing more than a revenge tour,ā€ James told NY1 political anchor Errol Louis.

Jeff Metcalf, the father of slain Frisco, Texas, track star Austin Metcalf, told Fox News Digital his home was swatted Thursday night.

ā€œI can confirm that last night our officers responded to a gunshot call in the 8000 block of Hickory Street involving the Metcalf family, which turned out to be swatting,ā€ the Frisco Police Department (FPD) confirmed.

It happened a few hours after an incendiary press conference hosted by the spokesman for the family of Metcalf’s alleged killer, Karmelo Anthony.

The Trump administration on Friday will announce that it’s moving ahead with a new rule, previously known as ā€œSchedule F,ā€ that will make it easier to remove federal employees it believes are undercutting President Trump’s agenda.

By stripping civil service protections from about 50,000 people — roughly 2% of the federal work force — Trump is continuing his far-reaching effort to trim the federal bureaucracy and make it more answerable to him.

The Office of Personnel Management’s new rule — dubbed ā€œSchedule Policy/Careerā€ — will allow many career civil servants to be classified as ā€œat willā€ employees, making them easier to remove.

Former White House Chief Medical Advisor Anthony Fauci earned $3.5 million in his first year of retirement from government and may have misled Congress about the date of his departure, documents reveal.

Fauci received several six-figure deposits through 2023 totaling $1.15 million according to a 141-page financial disclosure obtained by Open The Books, a government watchdog group.

The documents do not describe the source of the deposits.

French writer Renaud Camus has been informed that his presence in the United Kingdom ā€œis not considered to be conducive to the public good,ā€ and thus he has been banned from entering the country.

The British government has finally found someone they will stop crossing the English Channel, and ironically enough, it’s an openly gay, anti-mass migration thinker who was coming to give a speech at a political event. Prolific author and philosopher Renaud Camus has revealed that his application for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to visit the United Kingdom has been declined, and he is consequently banned from entering Britain.

He revealed an email he received from the British Home Office stating: ā€œYour presence in the UK is not considered conducive to the public good.ā€

Thailand has debuted the world’s first ā€˜Robocop’ designed to detect and prevent crime with advanced AI.

Equipped with 360-degree cameras for eyes, the cutting-edge cyborg maintains constant surveillance with real-time monitoring. The robocop, named Police Colonel Nakhonpathom Plod Phai, meaning ā€œNakhonpathom is safe,ā€ was unveiled during the Songkran festival in Nakhon Pathom province on Wednesday. The debut was announced via a Facebook post by the Royal Thai Police, according to a report by The Sun.

The robocop is also able to detect weapons, such as knives and wooden batons. In neighboring China, humanoid robots have started supporting police patrols.
