🔵 Texas Disaster Declared

Good morning. It’s Sunday, July 6.

President Donald Trump on Sunday approved a “Major Disaster Declaration” for the deadly floods in Texas Hill Country, he announced on Truth Social.

The declaration comes as rescue and recovery operations enter a third day following the devastating floods.

Catastrophic flooding struck central Texas on Friday as the Guadalupe River surged by more than 20 to 26 feet within 90 minutes, causing widespread devastation and forcing mass evacuations in Texas Hill Country.

KSAT Investigates received the indictment paperwork of nine suspects, including a former candidate for the Texas House and two former mayors, in connection with a massive state-led election investigation on Thursday afternoon.

81st Judicial District Attorney Audrey Gossett Louis confirmed the following people were indicted on Monday in connection with the investigation.

Seven suspects, who do not include Medina and Rodriguez, turned themselves in to Frio County authorities on Wednesday.

Tennessee Rep. Mark Green announced that he has resigned from Congress to take a mysterious new job — narrowing Republicans’ already ultra-slim majority by one seat ahead of messy fights such as the looming government shutdown battle in the fall.

The retired US Army officer had revealed his intention to step down last month after passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, but had refrained from giving an exact date. On Friday, he tendered his resignation, which is effective July 20, per his letter to GOP leadership.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I say farewell,” Green said in a statement. “To my constituents across Tennessee’s 7th District—thank you. The trust you put in me is humbling. I will look back fondly on my years of serving as your voice in Washington.”

The Trump administration is taking a “zero tolerance” approach to attacks on law enforcement after a Texas police officer was shot outside a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center.

The message came after similar incidents in other cities amid backlash against President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement agency.

An Alvarado, Texas, police officer was shot Friday night near the Prairieland Detention Facility, authorities said.

Federal officials arrested more than 200 criminals as part of a joint operation in New Jersey called “Operation Apex Hammer,” according to a New York Post report.

The operation, which involved federal, state, and local law enforcement officials, saw 264 wanted criminals, such as illegal aliens “wanted for sex crimes” and criminals wanted for murder or sexual offenses, arrested, according to the outlet. Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba and United States Marshal Juan Mattos Jr. led the operation.

Per the outlet, out of the criminals arrested, there were “17 homicide suspects, 95 gang members,” and others who were “wanted for serious violent and sexual offenses.”

The Trump administration deported eight illegal immigrants to South Sudan on Saturday after a federal judge cleared the way on Friday.

“After weeks of delays by activist judges that put our law enforcement in danger, ICE deported these 8 barbaric criminal illegal aliens who are so heinous even their own countries will not accept them,” the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated on social media platform X Saturday. “This was a win for the rule of law, safety and security of the American people.”

In a brief ruling on July 4, District Judge Brian Murphy rejected a bid to prevent the DHS from deporting the illegal immigrants to South Sudan, just hours after District Judge Randolph Moss had temporarily halted the deportations and returned the case to Murphy.
