1. Trump Approves Strikes

President Trump told senior aides late Tuesday that he approved of attack plans for Iran, but was holding off on giving the final order to see if Tehran will abandon its nuclear program, three people familiar with the deliberations said.

Since his private instructions in the White House Situation Room to the military, Trump has disclosed publicly that an attack is an option.

“I have ideas on what to do but I haven’t made a final—I like to make the final decision one second before it’s due,” he told reporters Wednesday.

2. SCOTUS Allows Tennessee to Ban Child Mutilation

The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld a Tennessee law prohibiting transgender drugs and surgeries for children, a major win for conservative activists and parent groups.

The court ruled 6-3 in United States v. Skrmetti that Tennessee’s law does not violate the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause. Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti defended the law before the High Court in December, saying it was a matter of “protecting kids from the consequences of decisions that they cannot fully understand.”

Chief Justice John Roberts penned the court’s opinion and said the plaintiffs “contort the meaning of the term ‘medical treatment.’”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) and conservative talk show host Tucker Carlson got into a contentious argument over America’s role in the escalating war between Israel and Iran during an interview released Wednesday.

While the Trump administration has denied U.S. involvement in Israel’s offensive operations, the prospect of America joining Israel’s attacks has driven a wedge between the isolationist and pro-Israel wings of the MAGA coalition.

The conversation soured when Cruz claimed “we are carrying out military strikes today.”

4. Karen Read Found Not Guilty in Murder Retrial

Karen Read was found not guilty for the murder of her Boston cop boyfriend — and she got off with a slap on the wrist for drunk driving after a months-long trial that captivated the country.

The verdict Wednesday in her second murder trial — a year after the first attempt to put her behind bars ended in a hung jury — is a stunning victory for the financial analyst, whose legion of fans say she was railroaded by vindictive cops who bungled the investigation.

Read was accused of hitting John O’Keefe, 46, with her Lexus SUV and leaving him to die in a snowbank outside a house party in Canton, Mass. in January 2022.

5. Buss Family to Sell Lakers at $10B Valuation

The Buss family is entering into an agreement to sell majority ownership of the Los Angeles Lakers to Mark Walter for a franchise valuation of approximately $10 billion, sources told ESPN on Wednesday, the most ever for a U.S. professional sports franchise.

The Buss family will keep a minority share of the team, just over 15%, for a period of time, a source said.

In addition, Jeanie Buss will remain the Lakers’ governor and continue to run the team for “at least a number of years,” sources with knowledge of the deal told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. It was guaranteed as part of the agreement that Buss would remain in charge for the foreseeable future, and Walter fully endorsed this plan, according to sources.

6. Hulk Hogan Hospitalized

Hulk Hogan has been hospitalized after deathbed rumors swirled on social media.

There had been talk on social media the WWE legend was suffering major health concerns.

However, according to TMZ, it is understood he is NOT on death’s door.

7. Fed Holds Rates Steady, Still Expects 2 Cuts This Year

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday kept interest rates steady amid expectations of higher inflation and lower economic growth ahead, and still pointed to two reductions later this year.

With markets expecting no chance of a central bank move this week, the Federal Open Market Committee kept its key borrowing rate targeted in a range between 4.25%-4.5%, where it has been since December.

Along with the rate decision, the committee indicated, through its closely watched “dot plot,” that two cuts by the end of 2025 are still on the table. However, it lopped off one reduction for both 2026 and 2027, putting the expected future rate cuts at four, or a full percentage point.
