đŸ”” Trump Pauses Tariffs

Good evening. It’s Thursday, March 6.

President Donald Trump on Thursday signed executive actions that delay for nearly one month tariffs on all products from Mexico and Canada that are covered by the USMCA free trade treaty, a significant walkback of the administration’s signature economic plan that has rattled markets, businesses and consumers.

The executive actions follow a discussion Trump held Thursday with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and negotiations between Canadian and Trump administration officials.

“After speaking with President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico, I have agreed that Mexico will not be required to pay Tariffs on anything that falls under the USMCA Agreement,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Thursday, after a phone conversation with the Mexican president. He said the tariffs would be delayed until April 2. The USMCA is the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, negotiated by Trump during his first term, that makes the three North American countries a free trade zone.

President Trump signed the executive order Thursday afternoon. When asked by Breitbart News in the Oval Office if he thinks there should be consequences like this for the people at the center of the Russia Collusion Hoax, Trump said that decision would be left to his Attorney General Pam Bondi and others.

“I do, but that’s going to be up ultimately to the attorney general and various other people,” he said.

Senior U.S. and Ukrainian officials are expected to meet in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday to discuss efforts to reach a ceasefire in the war with Russia, two sources with knowledge of the meeting said.

It will be the first high-level meeting between the countries since the public spat between President Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office last week.

The clash led to an unprecedented crisis between the U.S. and Ukraine and to the suspension of U.S. weapons shipments and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

Liberal California Gov. Gavin Newsom split with Democrats and acknowledged that “it’s deeply unfair” to allow transgender athletes to compete against biological women while chatting with a MAGA darling on his podcast debut episode

Newsom, 57, who is speculated to be eyeing a 2028 president run, stopped short of calling for an outright ban on transgender competition in girls’ sports, however, and lamented how conservatives “weaponize” that issue.

“I think it’s an issue of fairness; I completely agree with you on that. It is an issue of fairness — it’s deeply unfair,” the governor admitted to campus culture warrior Charlie Kirk on his “This is Gavin Newsom” podcast.

So-called “gender-affirming surgery” could lead to potentially dangerous mental health effects, a new study has found.

Transgender individuals face “heightened psychological distress,” including depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation, “partly due to stigma and lack of gender affirmation,” as stated in the study, which was published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine.

Researchers from the University of Texas set out to determine the mental health impacts from transgender people who underwent “gender-affirming surgery.”

Major Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue is facing serious turmoil with at least seven senior officials resigning last month and one lawyer implying that he “faced internal retaliation,” according to the New York Times.

The nonprofit, which has funneled hundreds of millions of dollars to all levels of Democratic campaigns over the years, is now facing internal havoc. Given ActBlue’s major influence in processing election donations, the group’s current instability could also greatly affect the Democrat party.

Two unions representing ActBlue’s employees sent a letter to the platform’s board of directors, according to the NYT. The letter cited by the outlet described the flurry of resignations since Feb. 21 as an “alarming pattern” that is “eroding our confidence in the stability of the organization.” The newspaper also stated that the reason for this exodus is unclear.
