President Trump will make a decision âwithin two weeksâ on whether to join Israelâs war against Iran to eliminate its nuclear program, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Thursday.
Citing the âchance for substantial negotiationsâ with Iran, Trump is leaving the door open to a diplomatic solution in the coming days that could avert a major escalation in the Middle East.
Trump met with his top national security team in the Situation Room on Thursday â the third such meeting in three days. Heâs seriously considering joining the war, but wants to ensure three things are true, U.S. officials say.


Iran reported that smoke is billowing in the Lavizan area of the capital Tehran as a result of an Israeli attack.
Last Sunday, the âIran Internationalâ website reported from two knowledgeable sources in Iran that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei âwas moved to an underground bunker in Lavizan in northeast Tehran, hours after Israel began its attacks on Tehran on Friday morning.â
According to the report, all members of Khameneiâs family, including his son Mojtaba, are with him.

A US attorney for New York was allegedly chased by a knife-wielding illegal immigrant with a lengthy criminal record who threatened to slit his throat on the streets of Albany Tuesday night, prosecutors said.
John Sarcone, the President Trump-appointed US attorney for the Northern District of New York, was allegedly chased and threatened outside the Hilton Hotel in Albany by Saul Morales-Garcia â an illegal migrant from El Salvador who was previously deported, WNYT reported, citing Albany County prosecutors.
Morales-Garcia, 40, allegedly aggressively advanced toward Sarcone with his weapon in hand â gesturing that he would slit the attorneyâs throat as he lunged at him before chasing the US attorney down the street outside the hotel just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, that report stated, citing local police.

Global coffeehouse chain Starbucks will be making changes to its menu to more align with the âMake America Healthy Againâ agenda, according to the companyâs CEO, Brian Niccol.
Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said in April heâs phasing out petroleum-based dyes and working with major food companies to voluntarily implement further MAHA changes.
Niccol met with RFK on Tuesday, according to a post from the secretary, and vowed to make the companyâs menu healthier.


The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) issued an urgent warning Wednesday about the potential for certain jet engines, when damaged, to allow smoke to enter the cockpit or cabin.
The NTSB safety bulletin warned about CFM International LEAP-1B engines but encouraged evaluation for LEAP-1A and -1C engines. These engines are used on Boeing 737 Max narrow-body passenger jets and on certain Airbus A320neo aircraft, according to a press release.
The NTSB recommendations follow two incidents on Southwest Airlines flights in which birds flew into the engine and caused smoke or vapor fog.

Extremely dangerous Hurricane Erick made landfall along Mexicoâs southwestern coast as a Category 3 storm on Thursday morning, unleashing destructive winds and torrential rain, leading to life-threatening flooding, a potentially deadly storm surge, mudslides and landslides.
Hurricane Erick underwent rapid intensification on Wednesday, which occurs when a tropical cycloneâs maximum sustained winds increase by at least 35 mph over a 24-hour period.
As of Thursday morning, Hurricane Erick had maximum sustained winds of 125 mph and was moving off to the northwest at about 9 mph.

Celebrity chef Anne Burrellâs body was found next to dozens of pills inside her Brooklyn home, sources told The Post Thursday, as police continue to investigate her unexplained and sudden death.
Burrell, 55, was found unresponsive in her shower shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday morning, after her husband, Stuart Claxton, found her and called 911, police said.
Burrell, the longtime host of âWorst Cooks in America,â was one of the Food Networkâs biggest stars.
