đŸ”” Trump Snubs Musk

Good morning. It’s Friday, June 6.

President Donald Trump is “not interested” in a call with Tesla CEO Elon Musk to resolve their feud, a senior White House official told NBC News on Friday morning.

The two billionaires launched a war of words on Thursday over Musk’s continued criticism of Trump’s proposed tax bill, which is pending in the Senate.

Trump said Musk, who until a week ago was one of his top government advisors, had gone “crazy” and threatened to kill federal contracts with his companies, which include SpaceX.

The red Tesla that President Donald Trump bought off Elon Musk during a White House spectacle in March, as the automaker’s stock tanked, is now set to be sold or given away amid an epic feud between the two billionaires, according to Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy.

Speaking on Fox & Friends Thursday morning, Doocy said the car that Trump picked out during the Tesla event on the South Lawn remains in a White House driveway — but perhaps not for long.

“We’re told that that Tesla, the red Tesla with Florida tags, is either going to be given away or sold off,” Doocy said.

The Trump administration on Friday asked the Supreme Court to lift a court order to reinstate U.S. Department of Education employees the administration had terminated as part of its efforts to dismantle the agency.

Officials for the administration are arguing to the high court that U.S. District Judge Myong Joun in Boston didn’t have the authority to require the Education Department to rehire the workers. More than 1,300 employees were affected by the mass layoffs in March.

The staff reduction “effectuates the Administration’s policy of streamlining the Department and eliminating discretionary functions that, in the Administration’s view, are better left to the States,” Solicitor General D. John Sauer wrote in the filing.

A woman who dated Sean “Diddy” Combs from January 2021 to August 2024 broke down in tears on the witness stand as she recounted enduring three-day sex sessions with male escorts that were allegedly arranged by Combs.

Testifying under a pseudonym, “Jane” said Combs pressured her into participating in these so-called “hotel nights,” drug-fueled sexual performances that closely resemble the “freak-offs” that Casandra “Cassie” Ventura described. Jane said she told Combs multiple times that she did not want to have sex with other men, and that he was “dismissive” of her concerns. An audio recording from a hotel room in which Jane asked that an escort wear a condom was played in court. In the recording, Combs is heard brushing off Jane’s request. Jane testified that on another occasion, Combs looked at her and said, “You better not ask for a fucking condom” as an escort prepared to begin intercourse with her.

Jane described one “hotel night” that involved three rounds of sexual intercourse with one escort over the course of 18 hours. Immediately afterward, Combs allegedly left the hotel. Jane said she was “so high” from ecstasy given to her by Combs and felt “lonely.”

The U.S. economy added 139,000 new jobs last month, surpassing economists’ expectations and indicating that the U.S. labor market remains in a robust position.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate held steady at 4.2 percent for the third consecutive month.

The median estimate suggested 130,000 new jobs and a 4.2 percent jobless rate, FactSet Insights reported ahead of the May employment figures.

A federal court in Brazil handed down an eight year jail sentence to comedian Leonardo Lins Tuesday for jokes he told in a YouTube video, according to Brazilian media.

The video from 2022, which was titled “Disturbing,” apparently “[contained] prejudiced statements against black people, obese people, the elderly, HIV-positive people, homosexuals, indigenous people, people from the Northeast, evangelicals, Jews and people with disabilities,” according to Brazilian outlet O Globo.

The 3rd Federal Criminal Court of Sao Paulo reportedly handed Leo a particularly harsh penalty of eight years and three months in prison — citing a “large number of social groups hit” — in addition to a fine of 303,600 Brazilian Real, which exchanges for over $54,000 at present rates.

The Transportation Security Administration is exploring a hands-off solution to airport screening that could see agents using virtual reality technology to “feel” passengers’ bodies without actually touching them.

The TSA has already implemented a Touchless ID process, which utilizes facial recognition technology for fast identity verification, but now the TSA wants to go a step further with the potential for touchless airport pat-downs. According to a release from the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), researchers at the TSA are looking into what they call a “Wearable Sensor for Contactless Physical Assessment (WSCPA)”.

The innovation, which is in the conceptual state of development, would see TSA agents using VR goggles and haptic feedback gloves to pat-down airline passengers at security checkpoints without touching them.
