🔵 Walmart Mass Stabbing

Good evening. It’s Saturday, July 26.

Authorities say a man wielding a folding knife stabbed 11 people near a checkout counter at a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan.

Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea told reporters July 26 that the 42-year-old suspect was a Michigan resident and the attack appeared to be random, with a standard folding-style knife. Bystanders at the store helped subdue the suspect, he said.

“Based on the information that we have at this time, they were random acts,” Shea said.

The next tranche of EU financial assistance to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility mechanism will be smaller than planned due to Kyiv’s failure to complete key reforms, European Commission spokesperson Guillaume Mercier said on July 25.

Ukraine had aimed to receive 4.5 billion euros ($5.2 billion) in the fourth installment, the largest so far, but will instead receive 3.05 billion euros ($3.5 billion).

The reduction follows Ukraine’s request on June 6 for a partial payout, claiming to have completed 13 of the 16 required reforms.

President Donald Trump shared two quick updates while traveling in Scotland over the weekend, saying on Saturday that he’d spoken to the leaders of both Thailand and Cambodia in an effort to bring about a peace agreement between the two warring nations.

Trump made back-to-back announcements — under thirty minutes apart — and said that he believed the two nations were at least on the road to a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict over their shared border. He spoke first with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.

“Just spoke to the Prime Minister of Cambodia relative to stopping the War with Thailand,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform. “I am calling the Acting Prime Minister of Thailand, right now, to likewise request a Ceasefire, and END to the War, which is currently raging. We happen to be, by coincidence, currently dealing on Trade with both Countries, but do not want to make any Deal, with either Country, if they are fighting — And I have told them so!”

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will implement a humanitarian pause in several population centers across the Gaza Strip beginning Sunday morning and lasting until the evening, according to senior Israeli officials.

On Saturday night, the Israeli Air Force conducted air drops of food into Gaza. The IDF said additional air drops are expected in the coming days, including from Jordan and the UAE.

The pause is part of a broader set of measures approved Saturday by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in response to mounting international criticism over the catastrophic humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has warned that unless change is instituted rapidly, Britain will soon succumb to complete societal collapse.

“We live increasingly in a lawless Britain… most people think that Britain has become lawless”, Farage remarked Monday at a press conference to launch a new law and order policy platform.

“We’re actually facing, in many parts of our country, nothing short of societal collapse,” Farage warned, adding “People are scared to go out to the shops, scared to let their kids out. That is a society that is degraded, and it’s happening very, very rapidly.”
